Petrofac's Engineering and Production Services (EPS) business has secured a construction and commissioning contract with Ithaca Energy valued in the region of $10 million.

Petrofac said on Tuesday that, under the terms of this reimbursable contract, it will be responsible for the topsides construction and commissioning works that are to be undertaken on the Ithaca-operated FPF-1 floating production facility, for the tieback of the BP-operated Vorlich field subsea development in the Central North Sea.

BP in September received approval from the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) to proceed with the Vorlich development. The field is expected to come on stream in 2020.

The Vorlich, a two-well development located approximately 241 kilometers east of Aberdeen, will be tied back to the Ithaca's FPF-1 floating production facility, which sits at the center of Greater Stella Area production hub and around 10 kilometers from Vorlich. Ithaca has a 34% interest in Vorlich.

As Duty Holder of the FPF-1 asset, Petrofac will fully integrate its operations and construction teams in support of the construction work scope, which is due to start in January 2019 and complete in 2020.

Earlier in December, Ithaca completed the previously announced transactions to acquire all the Greater Stella Area licenses and associated infrastructure interests of Dyas and Petrofac.
