Aker Solutions wraps up one of its deepest subsea installations

Oilfield services provider Aker Solutions has installed its first subsea manifold for Petrobras' deepwater pre-salt fields.

Aker Solutions said via social media last Friday that it had installed the manifold at the Iracema Sul field in the Santos Basin offshore Brazil.

Luis Araujo, CEO of Aker Solution, said: “Congratulations to the teams on the successful installation of our first water alternating gas manifold in Brazil, at water depths of more than 2,200 meters. This is one of our deepest equipment installations in the world.”

The company added that three more manifolds would be installed by May.

The name of the field was initially Cernambi South and later renamed to Iracema Sul. The field is located in the Santos Basin pre-salt area offshore Brazil at a water depth of up to 2,500 meters.

Oil from the field is being produced through the Cidade De Mangaratiba FPSO, capable of processing 150,000 barrels of oil per day, and 280 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.

Production began in October 2014 and hit its peak production in 2016. The operator of the field is Petrobras with a 65% percent working interest. The two remaining partners are BG E&P Brasil and Petrogal Brasil with 25% and 10%, respectively.
