Social and environmental projects sponsored by Petrobras take part in the 2013 World Social Forum held in Tunisia from Tuesday (26/3) in Tunisia. The event is considered to be the largest gathering of organized civil society and has space dedicated to Brazilians, sponsored by Petrobras in partnership with GRAP - Support Group and Reflection on the World Social Forum Process of the Brazilian Institute of Social and Economic Analyses (Ibase).

"A Casas Brasil is a Brazilian government initiative, we have support since 2006, when the World Social Forum was held in Caracas, Venezuela. It is a space for Brazilian institutions to present their projects and exchange experiences with organizations worldwide”, Armando Tripodi, the executive manager of Petrobras' Social Responsibility, said at the Forum.

On Wednesday 27/3, we will meet institutions linked to job and income creation in the Casa Brasil along with environmental management in the Amazon and recyclable material garbage pickers. There will be presentations from the Cata-Vida Solidarity Network, the Pacto das Águas Project, and the Association of Remnants of Quilombo in the Nhunguara District.

On 28/3, the focus will be on projects that promote socially vulnerable people being included, workshops on gender, sexuality and health and mitigation of emissions and carbon capture. There will be lectures on the Turma que Faz and Poço de Carbono Juruena projects. The Promundo Institute and the National Movement of Recyclable Material collectors will also be presented. On the same day, a dialogue on Mova Brasil, the literacy project for young people and adults, will be promoted, developed in partnership between Petrobras, the Federation of Oil Workers and the Paulo Freire Institute.

On the 29/03, the last day of the presentations, it will be the turn of the projects called Fábrica de Imagens, Juventude and Gênero no Campo and the Cananéia Network Association. Themes will be on the promotion of entrepreneurship, gender and sexual diversity and keeping the youth in the rural environment. Project representatives will also be at discussions promoted by the international seminar called "Crisis, Democracy and Development - Mapping the Future", held on March 28 and 29 by GRAP, sponsored by Petrobras.
